CPC Elections 2026
Vice President
Candidate: Joan Pemberton
A message from the candidate:
My husband, Nelson, and I moved to Tower Gardens of the Bay two years ago from Fairfax, VA, with our beloved pit bull, Simba. I was quickly introduced to pickleball by my college friend from the University of MD, Carla Larrick, and found a passion to pursue after work at my job as a Compliance Director at KPMG. Nelson and I have two children and one treasured grandson. We founded a nonprofit organization in memory of our son that raised over $120,000 for pediatric cancer research through a series of successful golf tournaments. As Vice-President of the Crabby Pickleball Club, I will look to bring my experience in running events, a strong work ethic, and an abundance of enthusiasm. I appreciate your vote and your support.
Tresurer
Candidate: Wendy Wells
A message from the candidate:
I am Wendy Wells. I’m sure most of you know me, have heard of me, or maybe just heard me. LOL. Last year, I ran for Member-at-Large and became responsible for the social committee. But midway through the year, my fellow Board members threw the role of Treasurer on me. No, not really. I volunteered because the past Treasurer was moving out of state. I have been able to pull off both responsibilities, and it has worked out fine. I really enjoy helping the club and our members. And it turns out I actually enjoy the position of Treasurer, so that’s why I’ve decided to run again this year. Please vote for me. I appreciate your support.
Member-at-Large
Candidate: Cindy English
A message from the candidate:
Since becoming a CPC member over two years ago, my journey from learner to player via the New Crabs has been invaluable. Based on that positive experience, I’ve continued to support and advocate for our new players. I lead scheduling for the New Crabs and the Wednesday Night Ladders. We all need to start somewhere, so my goal has been to welcome new players of all levels and transition them to CPC membership, and onto other levels of play.
In my non-pickleball life, I was fortunate to enjoy a successful 30 year career in Human Resources, labor relations, business negotiations and communications. I’ve also served as a director on the boards of two for-profit companies and one non-profit service organization. I understand the importance of interpersonal and communications skills necessary for group success, as well as the challenges unique to board members.
As a CPC Member-at-Large and Board member, I pledge to serve as an approachable liaison for ALL CPC members. Likewise, I pledge to bring my skills and experience to support CPC Officers and Board members to achieve club success and to continue to promote pickleball in QAC.
Thank you for taking the time to read this; I appreciate you considering voting for me for this role.
