This email is being sent to all members, past & present. Please feel free to forward it to any appropriate individuals. The Rec. Center Study, which we successfully lobbied to be pushed into the 2024 budget, will be completed in December. In the 2025 budget, there is $250k proposed for Architecture & Engineering, which is the next step after finishing the feasibility study. The community needs to keep pressure on the commissioners to let them know there is still interest in the pursuit of this project. Public comment for the proposed 2025 budget occurs next week at the following locations:

May 20, 2024 @ 7:00 PM: Kent Island Library, Stevensville

May 21, 2024 @ 7:00 PM: Liberty Building, Centreville

May 22, 2024 @ 7:00 PM: Sudlersville Middle School

All public sessions will be broadcasted live on QACTV YouTube, QACTV Facebook, and on Breezeline Channel 7 or 507 or by visiting www.qac.org/live

Please consider attending a meeting or writing to the commissioners showing support of the A&E proposed expense. Please do not make this particular plea about pickleball…too much pickleball talk could backfire. A rec. center is so much more than that….it is a place that could benefit children, young adults, families & seniors in all manners of activity, from sports to arts to technology. The possibilities to benefit our community are immense but can only happen if we keep the process in the budget. The commissioners can be emailed at: publiccomment@qac.org.
