Good afternoon, Please, please take the time to read this email and digest the information. There are some additional details and we are sending much of this a third time, as we have received many questions and the answers really are here if you read carefully. However, do contact us if you have a question to which you can not find the answer. We are here to help…all pickleball communities have the same scheduling & communication challenges as our sport grows. CPC TeamReach access: Please download the TeamReach app, if you haven’t already. It is such a great communication tool. You can message individual members directly, as well as the whole membership. Please feel free to use this method of communicating about pickleball or anything else that is relevant to our community. Our private group code: info-CPC. There are also public codes available for Mowbray, Grasonville, NewCrabs & players who prefer singles. These can be found on the public side of our website. Pickleball Den: Your subscription to this website is now included with your club membership! Many of our events are managed on Pickleball Den. Every member is listed in our club’s Den account under the email address you provided when joining/renewing with CPC. If you have a Den account already, you don’t need to do anything and your 2024 membership will be renewed when it becomes due. If you have never had a PB Den account and you would like to participate in our events, you should go to the website Pickleball Den, click “login” and “create an account” to create a password. Be sure to use the email which is on file with us, so you will be recognized in their system. You should be automatically directed to our club page next time you sign in but please give us time to enter you into our system. March 1st: Ladder/league payment opens. Ladders are a member-only offering so they are listed in the private side of our website. To participate in a Ladder you will need to pay in advance a one-time admin fee ($10) by signing into your CPC account on our website Crabby Pickleball Club and purchasing a Ladder event. Right now each ladder event is limited 25 purchased spaces. We will add additional spaces if needed. Under the CPC Membership 2024 “Pages” you will see a “Ladders” option. The admin fee covers court rental, balls, equipment, etc. Please only select one event whose descriptor you fit. The initial 6-week, evening Ladders will be from 6:30-8:30pm Mon, Tues & Wed. Monday is for the highest level, intermediate-advanced players. Tuesday is for intermediate players. Wednesday is for beginning/novice players. The Wed morning Ladder (M) for all levels will be the same time & format as last year, 9:00-11:00am. This is a competitive event with movement up & down from week to week. It is not for new-to-the-game players. There are still spaces available but they won’t last long! If you have a question regarding your Ladder level placement, please contact our pro Dave Haber and he will assist you. More information for each specific ladder, including the play format, can be found on our website by clicking this link: Ladder Info. We do plan to change the format for each 6-week session to keep it fresh and interesting. We also will re-evaluate the start time as we get into the summer, the courts become more crowded and it stays lighter longer. If you would like to signup for a second Ladder (ie: 1 evening & 1 morning), that ability will be released as a coupon code after March 15th. Purchasing a Ladder is limited to 25 spots per Ladder & we are trying to be as fair as we can, allowing people a chance to participate. Additional spaces will be added if needed. We will do our best to track whoever has not gotten in this round and give them priority access the second round. March 7th: Ladder/league signup will open on Pickleball Den for those that have paid the admin fee. You may signup for as many dates as you like for a specific Ladder. Each Ladder will have a waitlist. Waitlisted players will automatically be moved up to the playing roster & notified of this change when an opening occurs. So take advantage of the waitlist option, as there are frequently last minute cancellations. Be sure to enable Notifications in your PB Den account. March 16th, 12pm: Jim Flaherty Spring Fling. This will be our first official club event of the 2024 season, with a St. Patrick’s Day theme. Bring a dish to share & meet other CPC members. The round-robin style event is limited to 40 players with prizes for the top scoring players. This event will have some twists as it is meant to be more fun than serious competition. Additional info will be coming in a separate email. The rain date is March 17th. April 1st: Ladder/league play begins!
